BEN
WILSON SET FOR FIRST RACE
Having
completed a series of tests with his new Windmill Suzuki GSX-R1000
Superstock bike, Boston racer Ben Wilson is eagerly awaiting his
first race at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend.
Following
two outings at Cadwell to get the bike set up and familiarise
himself with the new K7 Suzuki, Ben headed for Brands Hatch last
Monday for further testing and to see how he went around the
circuit that is to be the scene for his first race of the 2007
season.
“The
bike ran well, it did all I asked of it, and more,” said Ben who
is being supported this year by Crescent Performance. “From the
word go I felt comfortable and was soon lapping at race pace; I
can’t wait to get out there under race conditions and will be
aiming for a good qualifying position followed by a strong
race-finish in my first outing.”
“The
Superstock championship is one of the strongest on the programme
and there is a huge contingent of top class riders competing this
year. I am really looking forward to the challenge and am sure I
can be up there with the best of them dicing for victory.”
The
weekend kicks off with a half hour free practise session on
Saturday morning followed by the first of two qualifying periods
at 3.45pm. Final qualifying takes place on Sunday at 2.20pm to
determine the grid position for the start of the opening round of
the Metzeler Racetec National Superstock championship on Easter
Monday at 11.50am which is to be run over 16 laps of the full GP
Brands Hatch circuit.
