BEN
WILSON - KNOCKHILL PREVIEW
As
the British Supersport championship reaches its half way stage, Kirton
racer Ben Wilson makes the long trek up to Knockhill in Scotland for
round six of the series where he is anticipating a strong finish to
his race in order to reclaim his position within the top five of the
rider standings.
Last
season saw Wilson claim a win in the R1 Cup at the 1.3-mile Fife venue
and he will be hoping to record a strong result for Gearlink Kawasaki
in the British Supersport series this time around.
“I
like the short little circuit at Knockhill and usually go quite well
there,” said Wilson. “The short twisty track layout should suit
the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and I will be striving for a top result. If
all goes to plan I will be there or there about when they wave the
chequered flag.”
Wilson
holds sixth place in the rider standings after recording an eighth
place in the last round at Snetterton but the points are tight at the
top and a good result north of the border could see the 27-year-old
Lincolnshire rider move back into a top five position.
Free
practice is on Friday followed by two qualifying periods on Saturday
ahead of the 25-lap race, which is scheduled to start at 2.40pm on
Sunday.
