BEN
WILSON SCORES POINTS AT THRUXTON

Boston
based Superstock rider Ben Wilson added to his points-total when
he crossed the finish line for 10th place to claim a
further six championship points in round two of the Metzeler
Racetec National Superstock championship at Thruxton on Sunday.
The
team continued with their development of the new Crescent
supported GSX-R 1000cc Suzuki K7 and as the weekend progressed Ben
was able to shave a further second from his lap times to qualify
in 12th place for a third row start in the highly
competitive series.
As
the race began Ben powered the Team Windmill Suzuki K7 away to a
good start to maintain his position. He battled with Adrian Coates
in the early laps and continued to move forward to cross the
finish line in 10th place to add further to his points
tally and move to sixth place in his championship challenge on 17
points.
“I
feel that was a reasonable result for me today,” said Ben.
“Thruxton is not one of my favourite tracks and I came away with
some more points and am sixth overall. The bike ran well, although
the back tyre went off over the last four laps. I think that was
due mainly to the unusually hot weather conditions but I am happy
overall and really looking forward to the next round at
Silverstone which is one of my more favoured circuits.”
The
next round is at Silverstone on April 29 where Ben will be looking
to add further to his points to move closer to the championship
leaders.
Championship
points after two of 13 rounds: Glen Richards 50; Hudson Kennaugh
36; Steve Brogan 36; Luke Quigley 23; Lee Jackson 20; Ben Wilson
17.
