CADWELL PREVIEW

Boston rider Ben Wilson will ride in both the Metzeler Racetec National Superstock race and the Maxxis British Supersport class at his home track of Cadwell Park on Bank Holiday Monday.

Wilson will be looking for a strong finish to his Superstock race at Cadwell to maintain his top five position in the title chase and will be going all out in front of his home crowd to claim a podium finish to add to his points tally and move closer to the series leader in the title chase.

Although there are only three meetings left to run, the Superstock riders have five races to contest. Two rounds were cancelled because of the weather and the rearranged races will be held at Donington Park and Brands Hatch where two races will be held on each occasion.

Also falling foul to the weather was the British Supersport event at Mallory Park where qualifying had to be cancelled and grid positions determined by championship points.

Unfortunately for Ben he was riding the Crescent Performance Suzuki for the first time and because the grid was oversubscribed he was excluded. Although disappointed it has worked in his favour as his entry was transferred to Cadwell where he will ride the Crescent Performance bike in the Supersport race on Monday.

Both series are highly competitive and Ben is all fired up and ready for the challenge.

“I know the pressure will be on me this weekend,” said Wilson. “I will have a lot of family and friends there to support me and I must admit a bit of pressure does get me fired up so it’s not going to be a problem. In fact it will help me as I need to go well in both races.”

Free practise and qualifying takes place on Saturday and Sunday with the 15-lap Superstock race set for a 1.55pm start on Bank Holiday Monday. The Supersport race run over 16 laps of the Cadwell circuit is scheduled for 3.40pm.
